Arizona's Fuel Crisis
On July 30, 2003, Kinder Morgan’s 8-inch pipeline from Tucson to Phoenix ruptured,
releasing more than 19,000 gallons of fuel in the Tucson area. The release point was located west of Interstate 10, north of Grant Road and east of Silvercroft Wash. The fuel was released into and around the Silvercroft Wash, and the pressure in the pipe when it ruptured led to five adjacent home sites getting sprayed by fuel.
