6th Wind
Energy & Power Markets Conference |
Today the U.S. has more than 6,700 MW of wind generating capacity. According to the American Wind Energy Association, wind power has expanded at an average 28% annually over the past five years in the United States. The wind community has set a target of 100 GW of wind electric capacity installed in the U.S. by 2020. However, in spite of all of the progress that has been made, there are still significant policy, transmission, and market challenges. The Wind Energy & Power Markets Conference will focus precisely on these issues. The conference will address:

Plus, Take A Tour of NREL'S National Wind Technology Center |
Nestled at the base of the Rocky Mountains, just south of Boulder, Colorado, is the National Wind Technology Center, a world-class wind energy research facility operated by the U.S. Department of Energy?s National Renewable Energy Laboratory. The focus of the work conducted at the National Wind Technology Center is on research and technology transfer. It is designed not only to be a center for research, but a technology magnet for a new industry. It is a place where NREL researchers work side by side with wind turbine developers to create the advanced wind systems of the future; where wind plant operators and utilities can come for technical assistance; and where wind turbine system and component manufacturers can come for research and test support that is second-to-none anywhere in the world.
