Dear Readers,
Looking out of my window into Nature, I see the Spring on its way. We already had days with 20 degrees Celsius. It brings to mind that it is took only one week this year, from minus 20 to plus 20 C. Which is quite extreme for this area.

Whilst we can read in this issue from new discoveries, increased prices, a speculative bubble, an assumed peak oil in supply, non-conventional sources of huge magnitude (shale, tarsands, hydrates) and high expectations of Western-style development with subsequent energy- and resource-usage, it seems that the warnings for climatic catastrophes if we continue like this, are forgotten in the scramble for new information.

Overlooking it all, it seems that a few things do not fit together. How is it possible to combine the obvious increase in difficulty in finding more oil, the expected or projected increase in demand for energy and resources by almost 3 billion people in Asia and (Latin) America and a reduction in emissions as needed to limit the worsening climatic-changes? The price is NOT the answer!
