US retail gasoline prices slide 4.3 cts to $2.237/gal: EIA

Retail regular gasoline prices in the US fell by 4.3 cts/gal to $2.237/gal in
the survey week ended Monday, the US Energy Information Administration
reported. The decline was the first since Feb 14, according to EIA's data.

Among the major regions, the price decline was most pronounced in the Midwest,
at 9.6 cts, which brought the average price there to $2.150/gal. West Coast
prices, including California, were up 0.2 ct/gal to $2.530, as prices in the
Golden State were down by 0.8 ct at $2.584/gal. East Coast average prices were
down 2.7 cts at $2.206/gal, while Gulf Coast prices dropped 2.5 cts to
$2.159/gal, according to EIA's data. Among the major metropolitan regions,
regular gasoline in New York City was down 2 cts at $2.176/gal, while Los
Angeles matched the California decline of 0.8 ct to average $2.594/gal.
Chicago retail was 6.4 cts lower at $2.270/gal, while Houston retail was down
1.5 cts to $2.110/gal.
