AES Appoints Vice President, Wind Generation; AES Strengthens Commitment to Wind Energy

The AES Corporation (NYSE:AES) today announced it has appointed Ned Hall to the newly established position of Vice President, Wind Generation.

"The creation of the position of Vice President, Wind Generation, underscores AES's commitment to renewable energy," said AES President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Hanrahan. "While his primary focus will be on the high growth wind energy sector, Ned will also be responsible for the company's other renewable energy initiatives."

Ned has been with AES since 1988. His previous positions with the company include Managing Director, Business Development, where he originated and managed AES's business development opportunities, primarily in wind and LNG. Before that, he was Group Manager responsible for development and operations in the US and international locations. He also served as Executive Vice President, AES China Generating Company. Prior to joining AES, Ned worked for the New England Electric Company.

Ned has a Master of Science degree in finance and operations management from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Tufts University, with a minor in engineering management. He is also a registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts.
