The Arab electricity ministers council is to hold its 6th session on 13 April at the Arab League (AL) HQ in Cairo under the chairmanship of Sudan to discuss the completion of an Arab power grid.

During the two-day meeting, participating ministers will discuss a number of electricity projects linking Arab states, currently in the making. A source at the pan-Arab body said a power grid linking the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states will be finalized by the year 2008.
