Extreme Makeover Home Edition Features Solar Power

The May 22, 2005, edition of ABC's TV show, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” showcasing the makeover of the Terry and Percy Piestewa home in Tuba City, Ariz., will feature solar and wind power electric systems provided through PerfectPower, Inc., an Arizona solar and renewable energy integrator and turnkey systems provider. These solar and wind appliances will provide 65 percent to 75 percent of the Piestewa's daily electric needs.

PerfectPower joined Shea Homes, a major national home builder, and Southwest Wind Power, a wind power manufacturer on the project to provide these energy-saving products.

The solar system includes black SunPower panels and a black Unirac anodized SunFrame for the panels. The PV Powered Inverter installed will provide the family with approximately 12 kilowatt hours of electricity per day on average. The Whisper Link wind generator adds another 6-7 kilowatt hours of clean silent power.
