Global Marshall Plan:

  Eco-Social Market Economics

The rapid pace at which globalization is spreading worldwide has created an untenable environmental situation, as well as impoverishment and inequities in distribution. As a result, the Global Marshall Plan Initiative has been created to help correct this unfavorable situation.

The Global Marshall Plan is seen as an intermediary and initiating step towards a worldwide eco-social market economy. The United Nations Millennium Development Goals, widely accepted by experts, are the actual goals to be implemented. One of these goals is sustainability and protection of ecological resources.

The framework for the Global Marshall Plan is a large challenge in itself. The United Nations, the World Business Council on Sustainable Development, and the Club of Rome could play an important coordinating roll.

You can read more about the plan in the speech (German), “Global Marshall Plan Initiative: for a worldwide eco-social market economy," by Frithjof Finkbeiner, member of the board of directors and organizing coordinator for the foundation Global Marshall Plan Initiative, April 23, in Fürth.
