House Energy Bill to Be Introduced This Week

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] The House Energy Policy Act of 2005, sponsored by Chairman Barton, will be introduced on Tuesday of this week, according to the Solar Energy Industries Assocation (SEIA). The bill contains a rebate program for residential and small commercial installations of renewable energy systems. Solar thermal and PV systems are both included in the rebate program, as well as in a home weatherization program. The rebate approach would require the funds to be appropriated separately, and thus does not guarantee that the program will be sufficiently funded. SEIA said they will work to modify this portion of the bill.
