New York (Platts)--30Aug2005
ExxonMobil said Tuesday a preliminary assessment has found a
company-owned gas processing plant and related facilities on Grand Isle,
Louisiana, sustained damage during Hurricane Katrina.
"The extent of the damage and the potential impact are not known at this
point," a company spokeswoman told Platts.
Onshore gas treating facilities along Mobile Bay in Alabama suffered no
visible damage, she said, adding damage assessments of the major's offshore
structures in the Gulf of Mexico were underway.
The spokeswoman added ExxonMobil still had 50,000 b/d of its Gulf oil
production shut in, as well as 780,000 Mcf/d of its gas output there.
ExxonMobil has a US Gulf production workforce of 550 on 100 platforms and
rigs, with normal gross output there of 80,000 b/d of oil and 1.2 Bcf/d of
natural gas.
