To talk about "LNG dependence"

To talk about "LNG dependence" as a reason to not develop LNG markets is to be in denial about our current and future natural gas dependence. I can understand why some would prefer (and benefit) from a strategy that keeps all the "eggs in fewer baskets" but it seems simple and straightforward that more supply options would improve current fuel market conditions, and help a bit to cool the red-hot oil and gas markets. There is no doubt that there are risks involved in LNG development, but I believe a correct risk analysis should include weighing the current risks inherent to our current partial state of deregulation of gas markets, its impact on our increasing oil dependence, and be assessed using an adequate model that balances the new mix of fuels, rather than a "LNG vs. no-LNG" comparison.
