NEW YORK, Dec 02, 2005 -- BUSINESS WIRE

Capgemini U.S. LLC, a global leader in consulting, technology and outsourcing, found that personal integrity and customer care were the two biggest drivers of executive leadership, according to a pulse survey of more than 125 senior executives attending the 7th annual Platts Global Energy Awards. Nearly half (49%) of respondents said "integrity" was the single most important leadership quality for an energy CEO today, compared to one-third (34%) who believe "vision." The survey was done with the collaboration of co-sponsors HP and Intel.

Four in ten respondents (41%) believe that clean coal technology is the technology that has the greatest potential to transform the energy industry by 2015, while one-quarter pointed to advanced meter reading (27%) and fuel cells (25%) respectively. The top four threats to the growth of the global energy industry were government regulations (51%); an aging workforce (27%); rising prices leading to a consumer backlash (16%) and terrorism (6%).

"The pulse survey confirms that today's energy leaders are optimistic about a host of new technologies ushering in an era of sustainable growth for the future," said Colette Lewiner, global Energy Utilities & Chemicals sector leader for Capgemini.
