Green Energy's Technology Selected for Study and Development

Jun 14 - Business Wire

Green Energy Corp. (OTC:GEYC) announced that its gasification technology has been selected for further research and development by a team of scientists led by the Colorado School of Mines and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory collaborating in project Clean Tech Colorado (CTC). CTC was formed to stimulate the clean energy production sector by advancing cutting-edge technology to commercialization and has applied to the National Science Foundation for a grant to finance this effort.

Green Energy Corp.'s patented gasification technology converts biomass to a synthetic gas that can be burned to generate electricity, reformed to produce ethanol or used to feed solid oxide fuel cell. Biomass can be defined as material that is derived from living or recently living plant or animal organisms. "Since biomass is available in ever-growing quantities and often creates a disposal problem, it represents a source of energy that offers an economic advantage over fossil fuels that have to be produced and paid for," said R.A. (Dutch) Hildebrand, chief engineer of Green Energy Corp.

Green Energy has previously produced electricity and mixed alcohols at its Denver test facility from a variety of waste products including pig manure, forest waste, rice straw and sewage sludge. "We look forward to these world-renowned research organizations helping us convert our test facility to a commercial-size plant," stated Dennis Murphy, president of Green Energy Corp.

Green Energy Corp.'s business is to sell or operate gasification plants at sites where unwanted waste accumulates, thereby solving environmental problems and simultaneously producing ethanol for the transportation industry or electricity for off-grid power consumers.
