PRODUCT: SB6000U Inverter

Alert: Under no circumstances should installers or end users remove the ground fault fuse or attempt to repair the ground faults in the field.

HERE'S WHY
SMA has discovered a wiring error in the GFDI circuit of the SB6000U. This error has no known effect on inverters operating under normal conditions. However, it is possible for ground fault conditions to produce hazardous voltages on the threads of the GFDI fuse holder.

Although it is unlikely that anyone would come into contact with these threads during a ground fault, SMA is taking an active precautionary step and issuing a safety alert to all installers and end users of the SB6000U.

HERE'S WHAT TO DO
Any customer or installer who have a SB6000U Inverter ground fault indication may contact SMA America technical support for assistance. SMA will work closely with installers to update the inverters in the field or ship advanced replacement inverters.
