POSSIBLE FEDERAL SOLAR TAX CREDIT

Last week, the U.S. Senate Finance Committee approved a tax package that includes the strongest incentives for solar energy in over 20 years. The bill would create a 30% commercial solar tax credit and the first residential tax credits for solar energy in the last 23 years, giving homeowners with a solar energy system up to $2000 in tax breaks. But the bill is expected to face opposition in the House of Representatives. Stay tuned for details.

NEVADA SOLAR ALERT

Vote Solar is working hard to build the solar market around the country, and right now Nevada is a hot spot. The Nevada Renewables Portfolio Standard has a carve out for solar systems that has not successfully developed a solar industry in the state. We are working to remedy this problem. We are now working with the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada, and we need to contact our Vote Solar activists who live in Nevada to increase our presense in this process.
