Rubber fueled power plant in Polgar

According to Vilaggazdasag, TechCon Kft plans to built a Ft 6 billion waste tire fueled power plant in Polgar. Zoltan Szekely, managing director of the company told Vilaggazdasag, that the plant would burn waste tires collected by the company to generate 40-45 Gwh of electricity a year. While they are still looking at alternative technologies, once built, the power plant would handle about 20% of all rubber waste in Hungary annually. The company is planning to raise fresh capital and take out loans in order to finish the project by the end of next year and commission the plant in 2007. (Vg Fr. 16) M.H.
