Ohio offering energy-efficiency grants

The state of Ohio is offering up to $250,000 in grant money to manufacturers and local governments that want to undertake an energy-efficiency project.

According to a news release from Lt. Gov. Bruce Johnson, the funding is available to entities that have participated in the EnVinta program, which is a software-based energy management program. More information on that program is available at www.odod.state.oh.us/cdd/oee/EnVinta.htm.

"This grant program is a major benefit to Ohio businesses and communities wanting to proceed with energy-efficient and renewable-energy projects," Johnson said in a news release.

The funds come through the Energy Loan Fund, which is administered by the Ohio Department of Development's Office of Energy Efficiency. Details of the grant program are at www.odod.state.oh.us/cdd/oee/ELFGrant.htm.
