BP Solar Expands Solar Home Solution
Program
BP Solar recently announced its plans to expand its BP Solar Home Solution to
virtually all The Home Depot stores in California. The Solar Home Solution
program allows customers to obtain complete installed home solar power systems.
Launched in October 2004, the program initially included 40 stores in the San
Diego area. In December 2004, 42 stores in the Los Angeles area were added to
the program.
The latest expansion involves 76 stores located between Bakersfield and San Luis
Obispo in the south and Red Bluff and Redding in the northern part of the state,
with the greatest concentration in the San Francisco Bay region. BP plans to
continue expanding the program this year to markets in New York and New Jersey.
So far, more than 50 The Home Depot customers have opted for the BP Solar Home
Solution. The program includes point-of-sale marketing materials and a customer
call center with responses from select local dealers or installers.
“The success of our program with The Home Depot lends us the opportunity to
further extend our reach to customers who are interested in improving their
homes with quality products through one of most respected home retailers in the
U.S.,” said Geoff Slevin, U.S. marketing director, BP Solar.
