Ohio's Toledo Blade newspaper offers an interesting and broad look at
Arizona-based First Solar's recent solar module manufacturing expansion at their
new facility in Perrysburg Township, Ohio. First Solar's USD$ 74 million plant
will produce the company's cadmium telluride-based solar modules. Unlike most
other solar PV manufacturing, which is based on the increasingly tight worldwide
supply of silicon, First Solar uses a different raw material which the company
believes can keep them insulated from the rising cost of solar due to raw
material shortages. The Toledo Blade looks into First Solar's new long-term
