Power On - A Response
Your editorial was
right in describing the benefits of distributed
generation. However, you did not address a major hurdle to
implementing DG: opposition to DG by the local electric
utilities. Both in our experience and in speaking with
others in industry, common utility practices include
sending out a team of "cogen killers" to dissuade site
owners from installing DG projects, and when projects do
proceed placing as many roadblocks as possible to
implementation and startup of projects.
