San Diego Gas & Electric customers paid 17.34 ¢/kwh in October compared
with 17.42¢/kwh in July while customers of Dalton Utilities paid only
4.32 ¢/kwh for the same power, about a 20% discount from Dalton's July
price.
The Dalton power is nuclear. The survey revealed opposite trends in the
industry. Some utilities could offer cheaper power as demand eased after
hot summer months but others needed to raise prices to recover rising
fuel costs.
AmerenUE customers enjoyed the biggest savings in dollar terms, paying
2.66¢/kwh less than in July.
Entergy Gulf States customers saw the biggest jump with a boost of
2.61¢/kwh.
