China's oil and natural gas output ranks world's 5th and 18th

The output of China's crude oil and natural gas ranks 5th and 18th, respectively, in the world, according to the State Development and Reform Commission.

China produced 170 mm tons of crude oil and 35 bn cm of natural gas in 2003.
It has 16,800 km of crude oil pipelines, 2,700 km of oil products pipelines and 169 mm km of natural gas pipelines.

At present, China has concluded more than 200 oil contracts with overseas companies and used $ 9.3 bn for foreign investment.
