US regular gasoline price rises 2.2 cts to $1.917/gal: EIA

The average retail price of regular gasoline in the US rose by 2.2 cts/gal to
$1.917/gal in the seven-day period ended July 12, the Energy Information
Administration reported Monday. The average price in the latest survey week
was 39.6 cts/gal above the level recorded for the year-ago week. By region,
East Coast price inched up 0.4 ct/gal to $1.911, while Gulf Coast prices rose
2.1 cts to $1.805/gal. West Coast prices declined by 1.2 cts in the survey
week to average $2.124/gal. Prices in California also were down, by 1.1 cts to
$2.193/gal, EIA reported. Average gasoline prices in the Midwest jumped by 6.3
cts to $1.867/gal, with the metropolitan area of Cleveland, Ohio, recording a
4.6 cts/gal increase to $1.862. Rocky Mountain prices rose a slight 0.4 ct/gal
to $1.907.
