Bulgaria Will Honour Pledge to EU to Close Nuclear Reactors - Minister

Energy Minister Milko Kovachev has said in an interview for Khorizont that the price reform in the energy sector has been finalized. He indicated that in the years to come, price formation in the energy sector will enter into the normal mode of regulation. The factors that will determine the prices of electricity and heating will be external, including inflation and fuel prices, among other things. [passage omitted]

According to Minister Kovachev, the peer review of the Kozloduy nuclear power plant's reactors three and four has played an important role in our country's ability to develop its nuclear energy. As regards the fate of the two reactors, Minister Kovachev reiterated that Bulgaria has assumed a commitment and that it will follow a policy that is predictable.
