News Advisory: The Department of Energy will host a NanoSummit Thursday, June 24 to bring
together policymakers and the scientific community to share information on
emerging research opportunities and priorities in nanoscale science and
technology for our energy future. The NanoSummit program will include: -- 9 a.m. keynote presentation by Spencer Abraham, Secretary of Energy; -- Perspectives from remarks by John Marburger, director of the White House
Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Senators and Representatives
members of Congress with oversight responsibility for science and technology -- Science and technology sessions with presentations from university and
industry leaders on breakthrough opportunities afforded by nanoscale science in
the hydrogen economy, energy efficiency and renewable energy, and energy
production; -- A special session on ethical, social, and environmental considerations of
