No one in the mayor's
office ordered take-out, but the Chesapeake Climate Action Network
delivered fortune cookies with a renewable energy message to Washington
DC council members and the Mayor's office. The delivery was part of an
ad campaign run by the network to promote the clean air, jobs, and other
benefits of renewable energy. Council member Phil Mendelson is
championing a bill before the council that would require a percentage of
the district's electricity to come from clean sources. "Clean energy for the District will clean up our air and water, bring jobs, promote energy stability and fight global warming," said Mike Tidwell, Director of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network. "If it passes, the Mendelson clean energy bill will be the single biggest step the District has ever taken in the fight against global warming." |
