GM to Help Deliver Mail in DC, Sets New World Record.

In September, the United States Postal Service (USPS) will begin a two-year lease of a fuel cell vehicle from General Motors (GM) to deliver mail in and around Washington, DC.  This is the first commercial application of a GM fuel cell vehicle in the U.S.  GM also announced it has set a new world distance record for fuel cell technology with a run of 6,059 miles through 14 countries, ending with the arrival of the GM fuel cell-powered Opel minivan in Cabo da Roca near Lisbon, Portugal.  During the 38-day run, GM said 25 international journalists took turns driving the minivan "without a single report of an unscheduled stop for repair as it was subjected to high speeds, steep mountain passes and temperature differences of more than 32 degrees Fahrenheit."
