Saudi April crude supplies to US were lowest since March 1997:EIA

US crude imports from Saudi Arabia in April were at their lowest level since March 1997, according to data published this week by the US energy department's Energy Information Administration. Crude imports from the kingdom fell to 1.161-mil b/d in April from 1.478-mil b/d in March to leave Saudi Arabia ranking fourth on the list of top crude suppliers to the US, behind Canada, Mexico and Venezuela which supplied 1.596-mil b/d, 1.566-mil b/d and 1.372-mil b/d of crude respectively. "Imports of crude oil from Canada reached a record level for April while crude oil imports from Saudi Arabia dropped to their lowest average since March 1997," the EIA said. Saudi Arabia also ranked fourth in the list of top suppliers of both crude and refined products, its total petroleum exports to the US averaging 1.175-mil b/d, behind Canada's 2.044-mil b/d, Mexico's 1.577-mil b/d and Venezuela's 1.539-mil b/d.
