million Texas customers had switched suppliers by the middle of December,
according to ERCOT figures, more than double the 535,785 Texas customers who
went shopping by the end of 2002.
Over half, 2,202 or 54% of large non-residential
customers had shopped by the end of November along with 16% - 160,752 - of small
business customers.
Residential switching reached 14% - 683,221 out of
nearly 5 million eligible accounts.
Utilities were serving less than 40% of large
C&I load in November and 56% of small C&I load but still had 82% of
residential demand.
Total load served by marketers reached 15,254 mw
