US$5/Watt Solar Incentives In Texas

March 26, 2004 [SolarAccess.com] Janet's Solar Electric, Austin, Texas-based solar photovoltaic (PV) installers announced that in April 2004, Austin homes and businesses will have the opportunity to obtain rebates of up to $5/watt by installing solar energy systems. Austin Energy has committed to paying 80 percent of the total solar system: up to $15,000 for residential customers and $100,000 for commercial customers. As a certified installer with the Austin Energy Solar Rebate program, Janet's Solar Electric said they are able to provide every aspect required of a solar installation from ensuring that the city of Austin code requirements are met, to issuing city of Austin permits, to service upgrades.
