Bill to Bring Renewables to Washington DC

May 21, 2004 [SolarAccess.com] A hearing is taking place today in Washington, D.C. regarding a bill that will require a small but significant percent of the City's electricity come from renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power. If passed, the DC Clean Energy Bill it could be a major step towards cleaner air, cleaner water, and less global warming pollution, as well as less dependence on fossil fuels like oil and coal. The bill is supported by a broad coalition of DC citizens and businesses. The bill was introduced by Phil Mendelson, co-introduced by Sharon Ambrose, and co-signed by Kathleen Patterson, Jim Graham, and Sandy Allen.
