Production begins from Llano field in US Gulf of Mexico

New York (Platts)--17May2004

ExxonMobil, a partner with Shell and Amerada Hess in the Llano Field in the
deepwater Gulf of Mexico, said Monday production has begun from the field at a
rate of 10,500 b/d of oil and 26,000 Mcf/d of natural gas. Production began
from one well on April 30, ExxonMobil said in a statement, adding the second
of two initial wells is due to go online later this month. Output from the
field is piped through an 11.5-mile flow line to the Shell Auger platform,
which has 25,000 b/d and 75,000 Mcf/d of dedicated capacity to handle Llano's
oil and gas. Llano is located in Garden Banks blocks 385 and 386 in 2,600 feet
of water 200 miles southwest of New Orleans. ExxonMobil owns a 22.5% stake in
the field, with Hess (50%) and operator Shell (27.5%).
