ELECTRICITY
Electric Power Monthly (03/03) The latest issue is now available on EIA's
Electricity page. http://www.eia.doe.gov/fuelelectric.html The publication was
redesigned beginning with the April 2003 issue to incorporate improved
statistics and provide more detailed data. This report now shows tables that are
separated into two main categories: Electric Power Sector (Electric Utilities
and Independent Power Producers) and Combined Heat and Power Producers
(Commercial and Industrial.) All data pertaining to these categories are
presented together, thus providing an integrated view of the electric power
industry. Additionally, the level of aggregation was also revised. The lowest
level of aggregation is at the State level, with greater detail available in
other Web products. Also, the publication provides rolling 12-month totals in
the national overviews, as appropriate. Appendix D describes the reasoning
behind the changes and their effect on electric power publications. http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/electricity/epm/epm.pdf

Cost and Quality of Fuels for Electric Utility Plants 2001 (03/02) The latest
edition is now available on EIA's Electricity page. This Internet-only report
contains tables compiled from data reported by regulated electric utilities in
2001 on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Form 423, "Monthly Report
of Cost and Quality of Fuels for Electric Plants." Summary tables include
statistics on receipts of fossil fuels by type of fuel, 2000-2001; average
delivered cost of fuels by type of purchase, 2000-2001; average quality of coal
by state of origin, 2000-2001; and receipts of coal by rank, 1997-2001. Chapter
1 tables present fossil-fuel data at the census division and state level,
including receipts, average delivered cost, and type of purchase. Chapter 2
tables include data on the origin and destination of coal. Chapter 3 tables
contain fossil-fuel data at the electric utility and plant level. http://www.eia.doe.gov/cneaf/electricity/cq/cq_sum.html

Distribution of Oil and Gas Wells and Production (03/02) Distribution tables of
oil and gas wells by production rate for all wells, including marginal wells,
are now available for many states for the years 1992 to 2002. Graphs displaying
historical behavior of well production rate are also available. http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_gas/petrosystem/petrosysog.html
Status of Natural Gas Residential Choice Programs by State as of December 2003
(03/02) EIA has updated its web site on the status of natural gas industry
restructuring in each state as of December 2003, focusing on the residential
customer class. Enrollment in existing "customer choice" programs
increased by less than 1 percent in 2003, although the number of customers
eligible for these programs increased by nearly 4 percent. Overall, nearly 7
percent (4.2 million) of U.S. gas customers (about 60 million) are buying gas
from marketers, with the largest numbers in Georgia (1.4 million), Ohio (1.3
million), and New York (295,000). http://www.eia.doe.gov/oil_gas/natural_gas/restructure/restructure.html
Analysis of Restricted Natural Gas Supply Cases (03/01) The four cases examined
in this study have progressively greater impacts on overall natural gas
consumption, prices, and supply. Compared to the Annual Energy Outlook 2004
reference case, the no Alaska pipeline case has the least impact; the low
liquefied natural gas case has more impact; the low unconventional gas recovery
case has even more impact; and the combined case has the most impact. http://www.eia.doe.gov/oiaf/servicerpt/ngsupply/pdf/sroiaf(2004)03.pdf
