All ExxonMobil staff now back at work at Qua Iboe terminal
Dubai (Platts)--26Apr2006
All ExxonMobil's staff were back at work at the 650,000 b/d Qua Iboe
export terminal Wednesday, a day after non-essential staff were told to stay
home because of security concerns, a spokesman for the company told Platts by
telephone from Lagos.
"We are back to full staff," the spokesman said. "There was a security
concern."
ExxonMobil had advised non-essential staff to stay at home Tuesday.
Exports from the terminal were not affected, however, because essential staff
continued to work.
More than 500,000 b/d of Nigerian crude production remains shut in as
militants in the key oil-producing Niger Delta maintain and intensify their
campaign of attacks on oil installations.
