Circuit City latest to join battery recycling groupīs network

Circuit City Stores Inc. has formed a partnership with the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corp.īs to recycle mobile phones and rechargeable batteries throughout its more than 600 U.S. stores.

Consumers can drop off obsolete cell phones and spent rechargeable batteries to be recycled at no cost starting May 1.

The Richmond, Va., company will integrate the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corp.’s Call2Recycle public education and recycling program in its 627 superstores and seven other U.S. locations. The program will allow consumers to drop off obsolete cell phones and spent rechargeable batteries to be recycled at no cost starting May 1.

The RBRC partners businesses and communities to recycle rechargeable batteries and mobile phones. It has collection bins in more than 30,000 North American locations. More than 300 companies that manufacture and market portable rechargeable batteries and products fund the RBRC.
