Greece can become energy path towards Europe

07-04-06

Greece's growth is based on three main axons: competitiveness, quality and productivity said Greece's Energy Minister George Sioufas at his speech in the Economist Conference taking place in Athens, Greece.
According to Mr Sioufas Greece has also the potential to become an energy outlet for the whole of Europe, because of its geographical position.

The Greek minister referred to the Greek-Turkish natural gas pipe, the agreement of the Greco-Italian underwater natural gas pipeline and the Burgas-Alexandroupolis pipeline as characteristic examples of the country's important position as an energy path, from Middle East and Asia towards Europe.
Other than that, Mr Sioufas emphasized the effort of the Greek government to help Small and Medium Enterprises through Special Programs, while pointing out that already 80,000 enterprises have benefited from the state aid.
