BILLINGS, Mont., Apr 21, 2006 -- BUSINESS WIRE
Billings Clinic is proud to announce Senator Conrad Burns will visit our facility for the dedication of an ultra-clean Hybrid Fuel Cell Power Plant. The Direct FuelCell/Turbine(R) (DFC/T(R)) power plant achieved a record-setting 56% electrical efficiency - a mark unparalleled for distributed energy products in its size range. Billings Clinic was selected as the host site for this combined-cycle power plant, which generates electricity from a fuel cell and a microturbine from natural gas without combustion. As a result, our community will benefit from significantly less pollution than the average U.S. fossil-fueled power plant - 99 percent less nitrogen oxide, sulfur dioxide and particulates, and more than 50 percent less carbon dioxide. We will host a news conference with Senator Burns to review the application process, anticipated benefits and tour the power plant. Please help us celebrate Earth Day and join us for a chance to learn more about the exciting benefits of producing clean energy. SOURCE: FuelCell Energy, Inc. |
