BP says restores output at Prudhoe to 200,000 b/d
Anchorage (Platts)--28Aug2006
BP Exploration Alaska reported Monday that it has restored production at
its GC-2 gathering center in the western portion of the giant Prudhoe Bay
field as of Sunday to 200,000 b/d.
The higher output was the result of restoring 90,000 b/d of output from
the GC-2 center. GC-2 went out of operation last week as the result of a
compressor failure.
The eastern side of Prudhoe remains out of production as inspections
continue on the pipeline, on which significant corrosion was discovered
earlier this month. The Pt. McIntyre field on the Alaska North Slope also
remains offline, with its pipeline being inspected after damage occured from a
pressure surge earlier this month.
