1)  Wood Stove Changeouts

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requests proposals for

Innovation in Wood Stove Changeouts Studies.  Proposals should include

a wood stove changeout campaign, provide rebates, vouchers and in some

cases free EPA-certified wood stoves (or other clean burning

appliances such as a pellet stove or gas appliance) to qualified

owners who are willing to surrender their non-certified wood burning

appliance.  $300K expected to be available, up to 3 awards

2)  Tribal Indoor Radon – Region 9

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9, requests proposals

from eligible Tribes and Tribal Consortia to fund Tribal Indoor Radon

Pilot Projects.  Work must be carried out in Region 9 which includes

AZ, CA, NV, GU, HI and the Pacific Islands.  Proposals must address

one or more of the following priority areas: 1)  Promote radon-

resistant new building construction in homes and schools,

2)  Promote/plan radon testing and mitigation of homes and schools,

3)  Promote radon testing in homes in conjunction with property

transfers, and 4)  Promote and/or develop coalitions to work in

partnership to reduce the risk of radon exposure.  $250K expected to

3)  Particulate Matter

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requests proposals for

Sources, Composition, and Health Effects of Coarse Particulate Matter

known as PM10-2.5.  EPA seeks projects in areas including but not

limited to:  Increasing understanding of the type and severity of

health outcomes associated with PM10-2.5; and improving understanding

of subpopulations that may be especially sensitive to PM10-2.5

exposures including minority populations and highly exposed groups.

$5 million expected to be available, up to 5 awards anticipated.

4)  Brownfields Job Training Grants

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requests applications for

Brownfields Job Training Grants to provide environmental job training

projects that will facilitate the assessment, remediation, or

preparation of brownfield sites.  Projects must serve a community that

currently receives, or has received, financial assistance from EPA for

brownfields assessment, revolving loan fund or cleanup competitive

grants.  $2 million expected to be available, up to 10 awards

5)  Environment & Energy Research

The California Energy Commission requests research proposals for the

Environmental Exploratory Grant Program.  The goal of this program is

to support the early development of promising, new scientific concepts

with the potential to impact the way we understand and/or address

energy-related environmental issues.  $600K expected to be available,

6)  Rural Community Development

The U.S.  Department of Agriculture requests applications for the

Rural Community Development Initiative (RCDI).  RCDI funds qualified

intermediary organizations that will provide financial and technical

assistance to recipient organizations to develop their capacity and

ability to undertake rural projects related to housing, community

facilities, or community and economic development.  $6 million

expected to be available, award range $50K to $399K.  Responses due

7)  Agricultural Initiative

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 2, requests proposals

for the Food Quality Protection Act/Strategic Agricultural Initiative

Program.  This program funds projects that reduce agricultural

exposure to toxic pesticides through the adoption of farm pest

management practices that transition away from the use of high-risk

pesticides.  Projects must take place in EPA Region 2 which includes

NY, NJ, PR, and the Virgin Islands.  $100K expected to be available, 1

8)  Combined Heat & Power

The California Energy Commission requests proposals for Advanced

Generation, Combined Heat & Power (CHP) Systems.  This solicitation

support RD&D that will advance the science, technology, and market

acceptance in California of grid-connected, packaged CHP systems,

including Combined Cooling, Heating and Power systems, which are

closely integrated with prime movers (engines and turbines) in the

range of 60 kilowatts to 10 megawatts.  $750K expected to be

available, up to 2 awards anticipated.  Responses due 9/14/06.

9)  Solid State Lighting

The U.S. Department of Energy requests applications for Solid State

Lighting (SSL) Product Development III, for SSL product development

and the production and distribution of SSL technical information to

the market.  Areas of interest include:  LED product development, OLED

product development, and the development of a technical information

network to disseminate SSL information to target markets.  $4.050

million expected to be available, up to 12 awards anticipated.

10)  Efficient Lighting RD&D

The California Energy Commission requests proposals for the Research,

Development, and Demonstration Program for Energy-Efficient Advanced

Lighting (LRP2).  The purpose of LRP2 is to create advanced lighting

technologies, products, systems and implementation tools that can save

energy, reduce peak electrical demand and reduce pollution for the

citizens of CA.  $3.5 million expected to be available.  Notice of

11)  Federal LEED Building in Alabama

The U.S. General Services Administration seeks design services for a

new Federal building in Tuscaloosa, AL.  As required by law, the

facility must meet Federal energy goals and include the new standards

13)  Efficient Real Estate Market

The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) requests

the office real estate market.  The goal of this work is to transform

current business practices of the real estate industry in ways that

lead to significant reduction in electricity use.  The intent of this

RFQ is to establish a technical expert pool for NEEA to draw from for

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority requests

proposals for the Hydrogen Transportation Development Program.  The

primary objectives of this solicitation are to: 1)  Support the

development of efficient hydrogen-fueled transportation technologies

in commercially promising applications, and 2)  Help support hydrogen

transportation demonstration projects involving hydrogen internal

combustion engine vehicles and the development of hydrogen fueling

19)  Oregon Energy Audits

The Oregon Department of Energy (ODOE) seeks proposals from firms and

individuals qualified to provide on-site energy audits and energy

studies for Oregon schools and other public buildings.  ODOE plans to

establish a statewide pool of qualified energy auditors in order to

obtain a greater range of availability and expertise for contracting

these energy audit services.  100-200 energy audits over the next 6

several decades.  Per capita urban water use in various locations

25)  Women of the Earth

The Yves Rocher Foundation is accepting applications for the

Terre de Femmes "Women of the Earth" Awards from the U.S.  The awards

are designed to honor women who make the world a greener place through

their actions and programs.  Any woman age 18 and above who is working

on a program that benefits nature and humankind is eligible and

encouraged to submit an application.  Three woman will receive cash

awards, $7K for first, $5K for second and $3K for third place.  First

place winner will be taken to Paris, France to complete in the

International Women of the Earth Awards to be held on 3/8/07.
