Andersen Debuts High Performance Low-E4 Glass
Andersen Windows, Inc. has introduced High Performance Low-E4 glass, the
next generation of energy-efficient, low-maintenance glass. Low-E4
features an innovative exterior coating that, when activated by
sunlight, helps reduce dirt build-up and water spots, and promotes
faster drying. Low-E4 glass is exclusive to Andersen windows and doors,
and will be a standard feature on Andersen 400 Series products.
Low-E4 glass also features Andersen protective film, a clear protective
film applied to the interior and exterior sides of the glass during
manufacturing to provide additional protection against shipping and
installation hazards as well as construction site debris. It is easily
removed and helps reduce clean-up time after installation.
"For over a century, Andersen has continually improved the performance
of windows and doors," said Rod Krois, window marketing director,
Andersen. "Low-E4 glass is the next generation of glass technology.
Combined with our low-maintenance exteriors and 20/10 limited warranty,
our customers now have less to worry about when it comes to owning and
maintaining their homes."
Andersen Low-E4 glass features proven energy-saving technology to help
reduce heating and cooling bills. Low-E4 glass is, on average, 41
percent more energy efficient in summer and 35 percent more energy
efficient in winter than standard dual-pane glass, according to
Andersen.
Its transparent metallic Low-E coatings, which are applied to one of the
glass surfaces within the airspace, deflect radiant heat and let in
visible light. The glass coatings also can reduce glare and cut
ultraviolet light by 83 percent, offering improved protection from
fading for interior fabrics and furnishings.
