OPEC ends meeting, agrees no output change: Algeria
Vienna (Platts)--31Jan2006
OPEC Tuesday agreed at talks in Vienna to maintain current output levels,
several ministers said as the talks ended.
"No change," said both Algeria's Chakib Khelil and Libya's Fathi bin
Shatwan.
"It was a unanimous agreement, there was no dissent," Saudi Arabia's Ali
Naimi said.
Earlier, a news agency reported that Iran had pressed for an output cut.
But Iranian oil minister Kazem Vaziri Hamaneh said he had not proposed a cut
in output. "No, we have not proposed a cut."
Qatar's Abdullah al-Attiyah also said Iran had not pushed for a cut.
