Tajik capital hosts international energy meeting

The second international meeting on establishing an international energy consortium is taking place at the National Bank of Tajikistan in Dushanbe today, the Tajik news agency Asia-Plus reported on 16 January.

 

Tajik President Emomali Rahmonov was present at the opening of the meeting, the report said.

 

It quoted him as saying that the goal of the meeting convened at the initiative of the Tajik government was to discuss with potential investors the issue of establishing an international consortium to complete the construction of the Roghun hydroelectric power station and power lines for the transmission of electricity generated by it and the Sangtuda-1 and Sangtuda-2 hydroelectric power stations, which are under construction.

 

The report added that representatives from embassies, international financial institutions and investment foundations of foreign commercial banks were participating in the meeting.
