Overview:
The
resurgence of coal as the mainstay of fossil fuel in the US and globally
has further increased the substantial volumes of Coal Combustion Products
(CCP) that are being produced. In the US, Coal Combustion Products (CCP)
are the fourth biggest quantity mineral supply produced. How to manage the
utilization and disposal of these products while developing strategies to
maximize opportunities and reduce risk in relation to regulatory
constraints is the focus of this conference. Industry experts from the
utility sector and coal support service sectors will share their
perspective on the opportunities and risks associated with Coal Combustion
Product (CCP) utilization and disposal. In parallel, the environmental
protection agencies will describe the different perspectives affiliated
with CCP utilization as examined within the EPA Air side and the EPA Waste
side. Utilities are faced with additional regulation compliance that may
very well render their combustion products (CCPs) unmarketable. The
challenges and possible influences of such regulations on disposal will be
addressed together with the current trends and economic factors.
