Wastewater firm receives $7.5M to develop sludge-free technology

Sept. 15 --

A U.S. wastewater treatment company has received $7.5 million in financing to develop its sludge-free technology.

Aquarius Technologies holds the global license to market technology developed by Elif Technology Ltd., an Israeli firm. The proprietary process prevents the generation of waste sludge during the wastewater treatment process.

Most treatment facilities use a process that degrades solid matter and settles out particulates, which creates sludge, but with Aquarius´ multistage activated biological process, no waste sludge is created, said Tom Pokorsky, CEO of Aquarius Technologies.
