Gulfport Energy reopens damaged gas line offshore Louisiana
Washington (Platts)--6Dec2006
Oklahoma City-based independent Gulfport Energy Wednesday said its West
Cote Blanche Bay natural gas sales pipeline, which serves its Cote
Blanche Bay field in Louisiana, is now fully operational.
The high-pressure line, located in Cote Blanche Bay near Baldwin,
Louisiana, has been shut in since mid-October, when the line exploded and
caught fire after being struck by a tugboat pushing barges. Four were killed
and two remain missing from the incident.
Daily production from the field now exceeds that seen before the shut in,
Gulfport said in a statement. According to Gulfport Investor Relations
Director John Kilgallon, total production of the field before the shut-in
averaged 3,900 barrels of oil-equivalent/d, with 90% oil.
Gulfport said it expects to exit the year with a net output rate of about
4,500 boe/d from all its assets. The company's aggregate production target for
2007 remains in the range of 1.7 million to 1.9 million boe/d.
