The Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, has been in power for 10 years. His government won its first election victory in 1996 and has won all general elections since.  Howard does not have a specific agenda for the current term of office. He said that he has no qualms about using nuclear energy to supply power and none about exporting uranium either. He wants to see national progress on water-supply issues in Australia. Howard also predicted that the Australian unemployment figure, hovering around 5%, could fall further in coming years. Howard does believe that greenhouse gases are a problem, but he wants to see the fossil fuel industries find cleaner ways to keep going. The Prime Minister claims he is not confident about winning the next general election.
