Russian gas shortfall to Italy to reach 8-mil cu m Friday: Eni

Russian gas imports into Italy continued to run short Friday with 8-mil
cu m less entering the country than the 74-mil requested, Italy's Eni said
Friday.
     The shortfall of 10.8% is equivalent to 2.4% of national demand, the
company said. The shortfall on Thursday was recorded as 7-mil cu m, or 2.0%
of national demand.
     Gas demand on Friday totaled 350-mil cu m, the company said, just below
last February's 351-mil cu m average. Industrial demand was down 0.6% from the
previous day at 52-mil cu m, while power station demand was down 1.9% to
87-mil cu m and domestic demand slipped 4.6% to 211-mil cu m, the company
said.
