PDVSA Says Sabotage Causes 1,000 Barrel Spill
VENEZUELA: July 13, 2006

CARACAS, Venezuela - Venezuelan state oil company PDVSA said on Wednesday that an act of sabotage led to a 1,000 barrel oil spill at a pumping station in western Zulia state.

A PDVSA spokesman said the company was still investigating exactly what type of sabotage had occurred.

The company said it sent trucks to collect crude from the spill, which was discovered early on Wednesday morning.

Venezuela is the world's fifth-largest oil exporter.
