June 12 --

Environmental Power Corp. is building a new facility that will produce natural gas from dairy cattle waste in Dublin, Texas.

The site, called the Rio Leche facility, will utilize waste from approximately 10,000 dairy cattle and the food industry to create enough gas to heat approximately 11,000 homes each year.

The new system will closely resemble the company´s Huckabay Ridge facility now under construction in nearby Stephenville, Texas. Environmental Power, based in Portsmouth, N.H., also working on another system in Hereford, Texas.
