ExxonMobil, Turkish Tupras start loading Kirkuk crude from Ceyhan

Dubai (Platts)--29Jun2006

ExxonMobil and Turkey's Tupras have started loading Iraqi Kirkuk crude
onto two vessels at the Turkish Mediterranean port of Ceyhan, marking the
first time Iraq has exported Kirkuk crude in nearly a year, a shipping agent
said Thursday.
The Turkish vessel Cumhiriaet started loading a 1 million barrel cargo at
0300 hours local time (0100 GMT), then ExxonMobil started lifting a 2 million
barrel cargo at 1300 hours local time on the Greek-registered VLCC Olympic
Loyalty, the shipping agent said.
Iraq's State Oil Marketing Organization awarded Sunday a total of 4
million barrels of Kirkuk to ExxonMobil and Turkey's Tupras in its first
Kirkuk tender since August 2005. Both companies are to receive 2 million
barrels each.
The ExxonMobil cargo is scheduled to discharge in the US Gulf.
SOMO issued a second tender for Kirkuk on Sunday, and has invited bids
for a total of 6 million barrels by 1700 GMT on June 29. Results are to be
announced within 24 hours of the closing of the tender.
